iPhone does not charge wirelessly anymore
Since I got a iPhone 8 I switched after some time to wireless qi-charging for convenience. I cannot remember when it stopped working but some day I woke up and the phone was not charged. I tested the Qi-charger but it worked with other phones.
I didn’t want to believe that it the iPhone’s hardware was the reason. I checked the settings and realized that there was an update available. My iPhone was still running with iOS 13.3.1. After the update to 13.4.1 the Qi loading worked again.
I can’t say if it the iOS version was the problem or if a restart would have solved the problem as well.
During my web-investigations I found a article at ZDNet which advised against qi-charging based on a report from the University of Warwick because qi-charging could reduce the battery lifespan.
